The Dark Mode disappears from Facebook – but why?
Since 2020, Facebook has offered a dark mode option for desktop, iOS, and Android users, but some users are reporting that they are unable to turn it on.
When scrolling through your newsfeed or a series of videos, the color scheme might make it easier on the eyes, especially at night.
Other Meta apps, such as Instagram and WhatsApp, have benefited from dark modes as well, but Facebook appears to turn it off from time to time.
How to check if you have a dark mode on Facebook?
The dark mode is not as prominent as other features on iOS and Android, so it can be tough to spot.
Step 1: Go to the ‘Menu’ icon on the navigation bar on the main screen and select ‘Settings & Privacy.’
Step 2: Then Select ‘Settings’
Step 3: Go to Preferences, and Dark Mode should be there.

On the desktop, however, it’s as simple as clicking the arrow in the top right,
Step 1: Selecting ‘Display and Accessibility,’ and
Step 2: Turn on dark mode.
There hasn’t been any explanation from Meta as to why it decided to turn off the feature for some people, and there isn’t any justification to do it in the first place. It’s a useful function that won’t put a load on the firm or the programs it provides, so the choice to deactivate it is perplexing.
For the time being, we recommend deleting the software from your Android or iOS device and reinstalling it to see if dark mode becomes available again.
