Last Thursday, the 05th of August 2021; Quora has launched two new subscription options for creators on Quora. They officially announced the products through their Blog on Quora – The Quora Blog.
As per their recent post, Quora wants to allow the creators of Quora to make a sustainable amount for sharing knowledge on the platform. This will encourage them to share more knowledge with the world.
Though, there are people on Quora who are motivated and able to spend their quality time writing on Quora just to share their knowledge with the people globally, whereas on the other hand, many creators could share much more knowledge if they have an opportunity to make some money out of it.
Quora wants to inspire as many people as they can so they can share their knowledge with the world. As Quora believe, the vast majority of knowledge all around the world is still yet to share on the internet.

New Quora Subscription Products
Creator at Quora will have two options for subscriptions.
Quora+
The first and foremost is to select the content that’s been written for inclusion into a subscription bundle called Quora+.
Quora+ subscribers will pay a monthly subscription to Quora and will get access to all Quora+ content. The revenue earns through this subscription will be distributed to creators in proportion to the amount each subscriber is consuming their content.
Though, the majority of the content will remain free and will be accessible to the public.
How does Quora+ work?
Space with any content can opt into the bundle of Quora+ offerings. Creators will receive a revenue share based on Quora+ subscriber engagement with their content. In the same manner, the revenue share model applies to individual writers as well, who are beta testing this program outside of Quora Spaces.
All Quora+ subscribers (who will pay $5 per month or $50 per annum when the program launches). Until the program launches, content enrolled in Quora+ will remain free.
Space Subscription
The second option is to create a Space on Quora, and people subscribe specifically to your space content.
A Quora Space can serve as a medium for expert advice, a platform where people can share knowledge for a particular product or topic, or niche. Quora Space is a place where people and the community engage regardless of any size with a mix of original and shared content.
Creators nowadays are using Spaces to build the audiences for a unique topic or niche that can’t be found anywhere else. When creator enables subscriptions for a Space, they can choose whatever price you want, and Quora will charge a 5% fee against every subscription. Though, these charges will change a bit in the future, but only up to a minimal fee, because Quora makes enough revenue from the ads to fund most of the platform’s development and operations.
With Space subscriptions, creators have an option to choose which content to show to the public and which to make exclusively to the subscribers.
Whatever options you choose, the Quora machine learning technology will distribute content to interested readers out of their 300M monthly unique visitors, this will help creators to reach a broader audience without having to grow a following or build a mailing list from scratch.
Quora will make sure that an ample amount of content will be available free to the public, and limit to subscribers. Though, creators always keep the ability to make the final decision if they want. Due to this specific technology, most Quora+ content will be freely available to the users on Quora.
Space subscriptions launched already in English for all creators who are residents of the below-mentioned countries, this list will expand to more languages and countries as time goes.

Quora always believed that the majority of knowledge is still not on the internet and therefore it is not accessible as of yet. Through these newly launched products, Quora is hoping that these subscription products will empower a new class of creators to share their knowledge online throughout the world.
How do Space subscriptions work?
Space creators can have an option to offer some of the content or all the content exclusively to their subscribers. The subscribers will pay monthly or yearly prices and the creator will keep 95% of subscriber fees, minus card (Credit Card) processing fees.
The creator can set access of each content between “Free,” “Adaptive paywall,” and “Subscribers only.”
Though, Quora recommend an “Adaptive paywall” to share a mix of free and paywalled content to non-subscribers.
Enough content available freely on Quora
There are now more options for a creator to monetize their content, but Quora ensure people that the majority of the content will remain free and accessible to the public like before.
If these products are not for you, you can keep using the platform like you always have.
