The first trial, involving local start-up Payface and grocery chain St Marche, is due to begin this week in Brazil. Payface’s technology will be applied in five St Marche supermarkets in Sao Paulo as part of the experiment. Future pilots are being planned for the Middle East and Asia, according to Mastercard, which is collaborating with companies including NEC, Aurus, PaybyFace, PopID, and Fujitsu.
