Lenovo’s phones don’t get a lot of press, but that’s because Lenovo-branded phones are rarely released outside of China. The company’s Motorola subsidiary is more well-known in the west, but when the Halo launches, you might wish Lenovo supported more places. This newly leaked phone, courtesy @evleaks, is only 8mm thick and features a 5,000mAh battery as well as the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (SM8475) processor, which could be dubbed “Gen 1 Plus.”
According to the large Legion branding on the back panel, the Halo is part of Lenovo’s Legion gaming series. Most gaming phones, on the other hand, have a loud, colorful aesthetic. How are you meant to play games on a phone that can’t produce seizures if there’s no RGB? I, for one, like the understated aesthetic. The device sports a small punch-hole camera in the top center and nearly no bezel around the screen.
Even if you can’t play 1337, the Halo has excellent overall specs. A 6.67-inch 1080p OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 300Hz polling rate, up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB of storage, and 68W wired charging are all included. A 50MP sensor sits in front of the camera, with 13MP and 2MP sensors supporting it. However, we have no idea what those secondary cameras are for. According to the leak, Halo won’t be released until Q3 of 2022, although we don’t know where. It’s unlikely that this phone will be seen outside of China, but we can always dream.
