How to transfer YouTube account to another Gmail

YouTube is the second largest search engine after Google and the third-most visited website on the Internet. To create a YouTube account, you just need a Gmail account, and if you have a Gmail account, you already have a YouTube account. It just needs to connect with YouTube. YouTube requires all users to link their YouTube channel with Google accounts, though users can easily transfer their YouTube account to another Google account at any time.

One more thing you should know that the YouTube channel is connected to an account on its own, and there are two different accounts provided on YouTube. But before proceeding any further, one must know about the difference between both types of accounts, i.e. “Google Account” and “Brand Account”.

Google Account

Google account is the account that you need to sign in to YouTube. The name of your YouTube channel will be automatically the same as your Google Account.

Brand Account

A brand account is specifically for the brand. It is different from your individual Google account.

A brand account is different from your personal Google account, and it can be managed by multiple users. If you linked your YouTube channel with a brand account, multiple people can manage your account from their respective Google Accounts.

Why should you connect a YouTube channel to a brand account?

There are several reasons for connecting YouTube Channel to a brand account. Usually, YouTube creator want to connect their YouTube channel to a brand account if,

• They want to use a different name on YouTube than their Google Account.
• If they want to give access to their YouTube account to other users, but not their Google Account.
• If they want to hide their name and email address from viewers. There’s no direct connection between Google account and Brand account.
• If they have more than one YouTube channel, so they can manage multiple channels from one brand account.
• Last but not the least, they just want to create a new Brand Account.

How to create a Brand account?

You can create a Brand account by following these simple steps:

Step 1: Sign in to YouTube and go to the “Settings” on the left menu.

Step 2: Under the “Account” section, click on “Create a new channel”.

Step 3: Fill out the name of the Brand account that represents you and your content. You can change it any time in the future. Once done, accept the terms below by tick the box and click on the “Create” button.

This creates your new Brand YouTube Account.

How to transfer YouTube account to another Gmail

Now, to move your channel to another Gmail account, you will need to go through the below steps provided. Here are the steps how to transfer YouTube account to another Gmail account.

Important Note: Make sure that you are signed in to the same account that is associated with your YouTube channel you want to move. For example, if you want to move the channel associated with your Google Account to a Brand Account, ensure that you are signed in to your same Google Account before this step.

Similarly, if you want to move the channel associated with your Brand Account to your Google Account, make sure you are signed in to your same Brand Account before this step.

This will ensure that your channel is not accidentally deleted during the move.

Step 1: Launch a Web browser and go to the YouTube website. Click “Sign in” on the top right corner of the screen and log in with your username and password. Make sure that you log in with the same Google account associate with the channel that you want to move.

Step 2: Now click on your profile icon and select the “Settings” option from the drop-down menu.

 

 

Step 3: Click “View advanced settings”.

Step 4: Under advanced settings, select “Move channel to a brand account”, you will be asked to enter the password for security purposes. Enter your password and the below page will appear on the screen.

Step 5: Now, choose the account you want to move to from the list given. If the account you choose is already connected to another YouTube channel, check the box “I understand and wish to proceed” on the pop-up box that appears and clicks “Delete Channel”.

 

 

Note: Please note that if you select to delete the channel, all your comments, replies, likes, search history, and watch history will be deleted permanently.

Step 6: Once you delete that channel, another pop-up appears on the screen which says, “Are you sure you want to move and update your channel?”. Check how your channel name and icon will be updated across YouTube. Click “Move Channel”.

Step 7: A confirmation message flashes below the screen saying “Your YouTube channel has been successfully moved! It may take up to 10 minutes for updates to your account to be completed”.
