Sometimes, this happens with every one of us; sending an email to the wrong user or click the send button without completing the email or forget to attach an important file. With this “Undo Send” feature from Gmail, you can recall a message within 30 seconds, realizing that you sent the wrong or an incomplete email.
To avoid such embarrassment, it is always good to recall the message within the stipulated time, fix the content of your email, and re-send it again to the right user.
We will show how to set up “Undo Send” in Gmail and to recall messages within 30 seconds.
Note: The default settings in Gmail for Undo option is 05 seconds, but you can extend this period for up to 30 seconds.
How to recall a message in Gmail
Step 1: Log in to your Gmail account using your username and password, and then go to Settings and click “See all Settings”.
Step 2: Now, click on the General tab settings, and then go to the “Undo Send” option.
Step 3: Now, select send cancellation period at 30 seconds from the drop-down button and then scroll the page down and click “Save Changes”.
Step 4: That’s it, the “Undo Send” option was successfully enabled. Now whenever you send a mail to anyone, you will see undo option for up to 30 seconds, on the left-hand bottom of the screen. The below message appears immediately after you hit the send button.
Step 5: To undone sending the mail, click “Undo” and you will view the message “Sending Undone”, and you will be returned back to your email “Compose” window again.
Step 6: Now, you can make necessary changes to your email and save it as a draft, or alternatively you can delete the email altogether.
