Google announced the “new integrated view” for Gmail on the web at the end of last month. The first Gmail users, even those with personal Google Accounts, are starting to see the new design.
During the initial announcement, Google simply mentioned Workspace tier availability. The business said on Friday that the deployment had begun for “people with personal Google Accounts” as well as paying Rapid Release domains.
The new appearance will be rolled out to Scheduled Release domains on February 28.
As of Monday morning, this revamp was not widely available for the initial users, but Google has indicated how you may activate it if it’s rolled out to your account:
Make sure Google Chat is enabled in Gmail, and you may be prompted to try it in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Meanwhile, Google has provided further information about the Gmail web revamp. You may move between Mail, Chat, Spaces, and Meet from the “app main menu,” which shows at the bottom left of your screen. If the collapsible panel (controlled by the hamburger button in the top-left corner) is hidden, you can hover over the app icon to see a floating preview connected to each service (excluding Meet) for the folder/label or contact list.
Similarly, you can preview, reply, or open a message using the new notification bubble in the bottom-left corner (Full Screen or pop-up window). These bubbles must be turned on:
